Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park. Spend the day among abundant elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, giraffes, and zebras. Tarangire's dry-season wildlife concentrations are among the highest in Tanzania. Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River. Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge or Eileen's Trees Inn.
Drive from Karatu through the scenic highlands and into the famous Serengeti plains. The transition from green farmland to golden savanna is breathtaking. Afternoon game drive searching for lions, elephants, and hyenas. The Serengeti's vast open plains support one of the planet's greatest wildlife spectacles. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp or Thorn Tree Camp.
A full day of extended game drives with a packed lunch. Your guide will take you to the best areas based on recent wildlife sightings. Look for lions, cheetahs, and buffaloes. The Serengeti's ecosystem supports over 70 large mammal species and 500 bird species. Overnight at Serengeti Safari Lodge or Serengeti Heritage Camp.
Another complete day of wildlife viewing with flexible routing based on the latest sightings and animal movements. Your guide will use local knowledge to find the best encounters. This second full day allows for deeper exploration of different Serengeti habitats, from kopjes to riverine forests. Overnight at the same lodge.
Final morning game drive in the Serengeti to catch the early light and predator activity. After breakfast, drive through the scenic transition from the Serengeti plains to the greener, cooler highland zones around the Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim for a relaxed afternoon. Overnight at Rhino Lodge or Ngorongoro Farm House.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning for a half-day game drive on the crater floor. The crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife including lions, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino. Picnic lunch on the crater floor. Ascend and drive back to Arusha. Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
