This 4-day midrange safari takes you through three of northern Tanzania's most iconic destinations: Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Stay in comfortable lodges and tented camps with en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and warm hospitality after each day of game driving.
Travel in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser with pop-up roof alongside your experienced English-speaking guide. All meals, park fees, and lodge accommodation are included, so you can focus entirely on the wildlife and landscapes.
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2.5 hours). Enter the park for an afternoon of game driving among ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Tarangire is one of the best parks in Tanzania for close elephant encounters. Watch for giraffes, zebras, and predators along the Tarangire River. Overnight at Country Lodge Karatu or Farm of Dreams Lodge.
Drive from Karatu through the scenic highland scenery and into the vast Serengeti plains. The landscape shifts from green farmland to golden savanna as you enter the park. Afternoon game drive searching for lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of zebras. The Serengeti is one of the finest wildlife areas on the planet. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp or Into Wild Africa Camp.
Early morning game drive in the Serengeti to catch the golden light and peak predator activity. After a packed breakfast, drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area through stunning highland scenery. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim in time for a relaxed afternoon. Overnight at Rhino Lodge or Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning for a half-day game drive on the crater floor. The crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife including lions, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending and driving back to Arusha. Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport by late afternoon.
