This 7-day midrange safari is the most comprehensive northern Tanzania itinerary, covering every major park on the northern circuit: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti (3 nights), and the Ngorongoro Crater. With a full week of game driving, you will experience the full range of Tanzania's landscapes and wildlife.
Stay in comfortable lodges and tented camps throughout with en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and excellent service. Travel in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser with your experienced guide. All meals, park fees, and accommodation are included.
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park. Spend the day among giant baobab trees and one of Tanzania's largest elephant populations. Watch for zebras, giraffes, and predators along the Tarangire River. The park's dramatic landscape and year-round wildlife make it a spectacular start to your safari. Overnight at Country Lodge Karatu or Farm of Dreams Lodge.
Full day exploring Lake Manyara National Park, a compact gem with diverse habitats ranging from groundwater forest to grassland and the alkaline lake shore. Watch for elephants, baboons, hippos, giraffes, and the famous tree-climbing lions. The birdlife is exceptional, with flamingos, pelicans, and hundreds of other species. Overnight at Country Lodge Karatu or Farm of Dreams Lodge.
Drive from Karatu through the scenic highlands and conservation landscapes into the vast Serengeti plains. The transition from farmland to endless savanna is breathtaking. Afternoon game drive searching for lions, buffaloes, and elephants. The Serengeti's ecosystem is one of the oldest and most complex on Earth. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp or Serengeti Safari Lodge.
A complete day exploring the Serengeti with a packed lunch. Your guide will take you to the best areas for predator sightings and herbivore herds. Watch for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebras. The Serengeti's open plains offer unmatched visibility for wildlife photography. Overnight at the same camp.
A second full day dedicated to deeper wildlife viewing and following animal movement across the plains. Your guide will use local knowledge and radio communication to track recent sightings. This extra day allows for exploring different areas of the park, from kopjes to river crossings. Overnight at the same camp.
Final morning game drive in the Serengeti to catch the early light and predator activity. After breakfast, drive through the scenic transition from the open plains to the cooler, greener crater region. The highland scenery is lush and dramatic. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim in the late afternoon. Overnight at Rhino Lodge or Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning for a half-day game drive on the crater floor. The crater is home to lions, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, hyenas, and abundant birdlife, with a chance to spot the endangered black rhino. Picnic lunch on the crater floor. Ascend and drive back to Arusha. Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
