Known as the "Coca-Cola route," Marangu is the only Kilimanjaro route with hut accommodation instead of tents. It follows the same path up and down, making it the most straightforward approach to the summit. The 6-day itinerary includes an acclimatization day at Horombo Hut, which significantly improves summit success rates.
The route passes through lush rainforest, open moorland, and alpine desert before the final push to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres. Sleeping huts with mattresses, communal dining halls, and basic washing facilities make this the most comfortable route on the mountain.
